Limited Edition Fine Art Photography Print

Photoreographia No.3 is part of the ongoing fine art photography series Photoreographia, a conceptual project exploring the inherent contradiction between dance as movement through time and photography as the fixation of a single moment. The work represents an attempt to resolve this tension by merging choreography and photographic process into a single, unified image.

Each image in the series is created through a collaboration between photographer, choreographer and dancer. For Photoreographia, a choreography is developed specifically for the photographic process and adapted to defined technical and spatial criteria. The resulting image is composed from dozens of individually exposed frames, captured from a fixed perspective above the stage and carefully merged to reveal both the trajectory of movement and moments of stillness. The final work allows the viewer either to visually trace the path of the choreography or to experience the photograph as a single, abstract composition.

Concept & Artistic Context

The Photoreographia project redefines conventional stage choreography by removing the live audience and replacing it with the photographic image as the final medium. Movement, rhythm and spatial relationships are no longer performed for an audience in real time, but instead translated into a permanent visual form. This shift requires the choreography itself to be reconsidered—its speed, pathways and spatial dynamics adapted to the demands of photographic capture.

Photoreographia is an ongoing series dedicated to exploring this hybrid form. While the project continues to evolve, only a small selection of works is currently available, with Photoreographia No.3 being one of three images presently released from the series.

The project has been developed through collaborations with leading figures in contemporary dance and theatre and has been supported by the FUJIFILM GFX Challenge Grant Program (2021), enabling further refinement of both concept and production.

Each size is issued as a separate, strictly limited edition. Once an edition is sold out, no further prints of that size will be produced.

The combination of a clearly defined edition structure, collaborative authorship and a continuing but carefully released series positions this work as both a standalone piece and part of a broader artistic investigation.

The Fine Art Photography Print is shipped rolled in a barrel without frame. The frames in the gallery pictures serve illustration purposes.
