Partition is structured through division rather than opposition. Boundaries appear fluid yet decisive, guiding movement without offering resolution. Direction is implied, but continuity is repeatedly interrupted, producing a rhythm of advance and deferral.
Within What’s Your Twenty?, the work reflects a condition in which separation becomes a method of orientation. Paths coexist without converging; proximity does not guarantee connection. Partition is not a barrier to be crossed, but a system that organises distance, allowing motion to persist while keeping positions distinct.
Concept & Artistic Context
Looking for solution, looking for settlement, but yet the fear of missing out by staying too long overrides. The inner discomfort is caused by conflict with myself. I am empty in the nothingness. I am paralysed by the limitless options.
Through the making of this ongoing self-portrait project, I aim to explore the possibilities given by the relation between space, body, camera and conceptual thinking. The act of performing to the camera silences me, focusing my attention to align the elements of this ever-changing constellation.
The title What’s your twenty reflects the once were common CB language that supposed to refer to the location of the asked person.
